Texas Gulf Coast Mission Trip
Our Mission Statement calls for us to be in witness to the world. One of the ways we can witness
is through the service we can provide as volunteers in mission.
HHUMC is sponsoring a mission trip to the Texas Gulf Coast 20‐27 June. We will take up to
25 youth and adults to the hurricane‐ravaged area between Beaumont and Orange. Our mission will
include reconstruction and recovery support to the community. The type of work may include drywall,
painting, trim work, cleanup, or landscaping work. We will stay with a local host church in the
area and sleep and eat meals there. The mission includes spiritual, devotional time and a fun day during
the week.
You donʹt have to have any specific skills, although work or hobby experience in these areas
are helpful.
Registration and orientation for this mission trip will be held at HHUMC on 21 Feb from 9:00
a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Two additional Saturday training sessions are required for each participant. The
registration cost is $75.00 per youth or adult, with an additional fee (determined after all donations
and expenses are resolved) due on the last training Saturday.
If you cannot personally participate in this mission trip, there are still opportunities to support
this mission through your generous contributions and prayer support. Remember, we are called to
mission, but you, the church, send us.
Contributions can be made the HHUMC and designated for UMVIM, and prayer can be offered
anytime.
Please join Scott Paul, Frank Baik, and Zach Jewell on Saturday, 21 February, for this exciting
opportunity. Look for other information about this mission trip over the next few months.
