Children's Ministry
Hi! I’m Frank Baik, the Director of Discipleship Formation at HHUMC. That translates roughly, Children’s Ministry Director. I am a graduate of Drew Theological Seminary and am in the process of becoming ordained in the United Methodist Church.
My job is to example Jesus Christ and recruit to do the same. Our mission statement is “Ambassadors Giving the Gift of Christ to the World.” Following in that vein, the Children’s Ministry seeks to model Christ for children and families, and to make models of Christ.
Our goal in Children’s Ministry is to present Christ in a way that is engaging to children. I believe that modeling is the best way. Our staff seeks to treat children as Jesus would treat them. We want children to experience the love of God. Experience is something children can understand and something that children will be willing to receive. Sunday School classes meet between the 8:30 a.m. and the 11:00 a.m. services, running from about 9:45 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Most families with children attend the 11:00 a.m. service, but you are welcome to attend the 8:30 a.m. service if that works better for you.
The Sunday School program is growing. We will add classes to accommodate students, but this is where we are right now.
