"Making a joyful noise to the Lord!"
The church is blessed to have an excellent music ministry department that offers anyone with a heart for music the opportunity to use their skills, to explore an interest, or to just sit back and enjoy the gift of beautiful music produced regularly by our choir, praise team, hand bell choir or children’s chorus. The adult choir, hand bell choir, and praise team regularly participate in all Sunday morning worship services on a rotating schedule, and in all special services such as Christmas and Easter. Our music family is filled with persons who are passionate in their love of music and wish to share that passion with others. If you would like more information about how you can be a part of the well-supported and always growing music ministry of Helotes Hills United Methodist Church, contact Kathy Brock, Director of Music Ministry. Experience is not necessary, just a genuine love of music!
Purely Praise Band
The church’s Purely Praise Band perform at our regular services twice a month, and for our popular occasional outdoor services. They sing many of the current songs heard on Christian radio stations, and they're always interested in talented musicians who wish to share their love of music and their instrumental or vocal gifts. Practice is held on Wednesday evenings. For more information contact Kathy Brock, Director of Music Ministry. Better yet... stop in and visit a practice on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.!
Spirits Voice Adult Choir
The Helotes Hills United Methodist adult choir is composed of spirited youth and adults who love to sing praise to the Lord through a wide variety of musical selections including classical, gospel, contemporary, and spirituals. The choir rehearses each Wednesday evening from 6:45 until 8:00 p.m. in preparation for participation in worship twice a month. The choir not only sings together joyously but also plays together joyously because making music makes friends and it’s FUN! If you like to sing, you are invited to give choir a try - prior singing experience is nice but not necessary. For more information contact Kathy Brock, Choir Director.
We are currently preparing our special Christmas Music presentation "Invitation to a Miracle" by Joseph M. Martin on Sunday, December 11, 2016 (11:00 am and 7:00 pm). Come lift your voice unto the Lord.
HHUMC GLORY RINGERS
The Glory Ringer Handbell Choir, under the direction of Richard Flores, meets on Wednesdays from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m., September through May. The group rings for both services of worship on a monthly basis and is open to all interested youth and adults. Music reading ability is an asset but not a requirement. Join the fun!
