Our Life after Loss Grief Support class will begin October 18, 2015 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. This six week class is designed to help those who have lost a love one understand the process of grief. The class will meet October 25, Nov. 1, Nov.15, Nov. 22, and Nov. 29. November 15 class is the Grief Support Holiday workshop and is open to all.
Get ready to step up and donate new or gently used shoes and new socks to "A Walk In My Shoes" during the month of October at the Pumpkin Patch. The shoe drive will culminate on November 8, Faith in Action Service Sunday, with a delivery to Haven for Hope. This drop off will be one of our community service projects.
Through an historic initiative called GPS 30, congregations from coast to coast will experience the power of intensive, purposeful prayer. It’s part of a movement with the ultimate goal of millions of Christ followers praying for an entire month for this world that is so in need of God. GPS 30 will begin at Helotes Hills UMC on October 4, World Communion Sunday.
We are decorating the Patch on Saturday, September 26 in preparation for the arrival of our semi on Saturday, October 3 at 12:30 pm. Anyone interested in helping unload pumpkins should arrive around 11:30 am for hamburgers and hotdogs. The Patch will open on Sunday, October 4 at 10 am. Patch hours will be 10 am to 8 pm on weekend and 12 pm to 8 pm on weekdays.
Helotes Hills UMC will recognized Youth who have completed Journey 101 and all educators. Students in Third grade and any older student who does not have a Bible will receive a Bible.
We will begin this fall by offering the first 6 week session of the Journey 101 series, “Knowing God”. The sessions will be offered on Thursday evenings beginning September 24 from 7:00-9:00 pm and again on the following Sunday, September 27 from 8:30-10:30 am
Helotes Hills UMC will be offering "Making Sense of the Bible", a study by Adam Hamilton in two different classes. You may choose the first class which will run Tuesdays, September 15 through October 27 or the second class offered on Sunday mornings in the Grace Adult Sunday School Class from 9:45 to 10:45 am beginning September 20.
Beginning September 20, 2015, Helotes Hills will be offering a confirmation class to anyone in Junior High or above who has not been yet confirmed. Classes will meet 3:00 to 4:30 on Sunday afternoon right before Youth Group. A confirmand, parent and mentor breakfast meeting to be held on Sunday September 13 from 9:45-10:30 am,
Come early to service on Sundays through the summer and join us for coffee and fellowship in the patio area outside the narthex weather permitting (PARC if raining). This is a great time to meet and greet and enjoy snacks provided by the various Helotes Hills organizations.
Our Youth Group is once again participating in YouthWorks Mission whose purpose is to connect teenagers to God, each other and communities through life changing, Christ centered mission trip. Helotes Hills will be dedicating them on Sunday, July 26. They will leave on July 30 and return August 9. Sponsorships are available.
