Holy Communion is served on the first Sunday of every month by intinction, dipping the bread in the cup. All persons are welcome to the table of the Lord.
For Good Friday Service at 7:00 pm, April 14, the Glory Singers will be presenting "Song of the Shadows" by Joseph M. Martin. The earthly life of Christ began in shadows, He walked in shadows and died on the cross. In the shadow of the cross, we can discover our faith. " wherever there are shadows, there is also light"-Joseph M. Martin
Helotes Hills UMC is sponsoring the 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at The Gardens at Old Town Helotes. Registration begins at 10:00 am The first 50 children will receive a basket with grass to use for the hunt. A special puppet show will begin at 10:15 am and the actual hunt will begin at 10:30 am. Games and refreshments will also be available. Bring you camera for photos with the Easter Bunny.
The Ash Wednesday Service for dispersing of ashes will be at 7:00 pm.
Coffee, Kids and Life is a new Sunday School Class for parents of infants through 18 years of age. We discuss family issues and share our experiences because the journey is easier when we walk together.
The Pumpkins are coming and it's time to sign up for Story Time. Contact the office for available dates for your small group.
The next Life After Loss series of lessons will begin Sunday, October 9 at 3:00 pm. This five week class is designed to help people understand the process of grief, access where they are in the process and plan how they will continue to heal. It also provides and opportunity to connect to other who are grieving.
The Patch will be open weekends from 10 am to 8 pm beginning October 2 and weekdays noon to 8 pm until October 31. Crafts and snacks will also be sold on weekends. Come take pictures or have lunch and choose your perfect pumpkin. We will have various other events scheduled throughout the month.
Our pumpkins arrive from New Mexico on Saturday, October 1 at 8:00 am. If you would like to help in this fun and dirty endeavor arrive at 7:30 for breakfast. You may want to bring gloves. The Patch opens October 2 but all volunteers will be allowed to pick their special pumpkin after (during?) unloading. Service hours may be earned.
Helotes Hills UMC welcomes Rev. James Sweet and his wife, Rebecca to our community. Pastor Jim last served at the First United Methodist Church in Eldorado, TX. He has served in the Navy and is a graduate of UT Austin and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
