On the third of July, 1966, a group of eighteen Methodist Christians banded together to organize and build a Methodist Church in the community of Helotes. Under the guidance of Rev. J. Roy Hilliard, on July 10, those eighteen persons joined the newly formed Methodist Church as one body.

 From July 3, 1966 through February 19, 1967, our new church held worship services and organizational meetings in the homes of the members and in the old rock house owned by the Presbyterian congregation, located to the side of out present parking lot.

 Having already acquired the land on which to build, we Methodists began to plan a complex of our own and, while the first unit was under construction, our Presbyterian neighbors invited us to continue using their facilities until our building was complete. With grateful hearts we accepted and repaid them by paying half of all utilities and being responsible for keeping the building and grounds clean on a shared basis. At the end of our stay, to show appreciation for their love and hospitality, we presented them with a sizable love offering. During our stay with the Presbyterians, our Sunday worship service was held at 8:30 a.a., the Presbyterian service was at 11:00 a.m., and we joined together for Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. The new buildings were completed and our firrst worship service was celebrated February 2, 1967.

 From February 2 through May 21, 1967 our little congregation grew and on May 21, 1967 the newly formed church was consecrated and dedicated to the Glory of God by Bishop O. Eugene Slater. The charter was closed with 91 members on the church rolls.

 Rev. Hilliard remained pastor until June, 1969, when Collin T, Furr was appointed pastor. Under his leadership the parsonage was completed along with the PARC building.

 Helotes Hills continued to grow and in 1994, under the pastorship of Peter Aguilar, a new sanctuary was built and dedicated to God's glory.

 Today we remain a beacon of God's love, making ourselves active in the life of Helotes and sharing His love with our community.
